In loving memory of our loyal companions who have passed over the Rainbow Bridge...

There is a bridge connecting Heaven and Earth. It is called the Rainbow bridge because of its many colors. Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land of meadows, hills and valleys with lush green grass.
When ever a beloved horse passes from this realm, they all go to this very special valley. There is always thick lush green pastures with tall grasses dancing in a soft breeze. There's crystal clear blue sparkling waters, running in rivers, waterfalls and streams. Warm spring weather with a soft gentle breeze. The old and frail animals are young again. Those that had been injured or maimed are made whole again. They romp and play all day. There is only one thing missing. They are not with their special person who loved them here on Earth. So each day they run and play until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up! Nostrils flaired, Ears up! Sparkling eyes, from the intent gaze, As this one looks onward towards the bridge! And then, suddenly runs from the group! You have been seen, and when you and your special friend meet, you wrap your arms around your special friends neck, tangle your fingers within the locks of hair in the flowing mane, your freind arches that graceful neck and bows low the noble head, in order to be able to reach down in your arms embrace. You look into those big knowing & loving eyes, as your own lashes are covered in a vail of happy tears. You are at long last, together again; And Together you cross over the Rainbow Bridge; Never to be separated again...

"Bob Marley"

Retired Thoroughbred gelding,
1 January 1995 - 3 July 2015

Marley came to the Rescue under the retirement program. He was a big red horse with a heart of gold. He loved to talk and be loved on. In the past several months, Marley had seven strokes. From the first stroke on, he let everyone know that he was a fighter and was not going to give up easily. He loved life too much to just give up. But after the seventh stroke his body was just too weak to continue. Weeko and I spent as much of the last few days with Marley as we possibly could. Two hours prior to his passing, the other horses came by as if to say their last fairwells. He knew that he was loved. I was still rubbing his neck when he took his final breath at 10 minutes after midnight. The last few minutes tears started running from his eyes as if he knew it was time to go, but he couldn't move or make a sound. With his final breath, there was lightning and rolling thunder to the north. That was Marley running wild and free once again. At least now he is in no more pain. My heart is heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"Zhi-Bask "Sugar""

Registered Purebred Arabian Mare,
17 April 1996 - 17 September 2015

Sugar was another that came to the Rescue under the retirement program. She was a beautiful dark bay mare with a heart of gold. She loved to be petted and be loved on. Sugar didn't ask for it, but all the other horses proclaimed her as their leader. She loved everyone that came close to her and everyone that met her loved her just as much. On Thursday the 17th of September, someone cut the fence and Sugar disappeared. On Monday 21 September 2015, we located her. She had been shot and killed by some heartless individual. The Sheriff's Department is investigating. Again my heart is heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"Relentless Ms. Parker "Dee Dee", and Baby Dee Dee"

AQHA Registered Mare, and foal
26 April 1997 - 11 October 2015, 11 October 2015 - 11 October 2015

Dee Dee also came to the Ranch under the retirement program. When we first got her, she was underweight from being used as a broodmare. It didn't take her long to start gaining weight and really looking good. She was a beautiful Sorrel mare with a heart of gold. Her star on her forehead looked like a small white Christmas Tree. She loved attention from anyone who would be willing to share it with her. Where ever Dee Dee went a group of the other horses would follow her no matter where she went. On Sunday the 11th of October, Dee Dee didn't show up for the evening meal. When we found her she had been trying to deliver a foal. By the time we found her, it was too late to save the foal too. We believe that she had a heart attack and passed away before the foal was born. Unfortunately, we were informed that she had not been in close proximity to a stud before coming to us. Someone made a mistake and Dee Dee paid the price for it. Had we known that she was in foal, her diet and other care would have been different. Again my heart is very heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"Cheyenne"

Arabian Gelding
? 1982 - 13 January 2016

Cheyenne was another wonderful addition to the Ranch under the retirement program. When we first got him, because of his age we didn't expect him to live forever. He was a little underweight, but that was to be expected due to his age. He was a beautiful horse with a heart of gold. He looked as if he were a toy horse that came to life. Absolutely gorgeous. He loved attention and wanted to be friends with all the other horses here. He was only with us a short time but loved as much as each horse here. Again my heart is very heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"Rajolu RoyalGypsy "RJ""

Purebred Arabian Registered Mare
22 April 1993 - 11 June 2016

RJ was another that came to the Rescue under the retirement program. She was a beautiful dark bay mare with a heart of gold. She loved to be petted and be loved on. She loved everyone that came close to her and everyone that met her loved her just as much. She love to walk up behind you and rub and scratch her head on your back. Again my heart is very heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"Smokie"

AQHA Registered Mare
- 29 August 2016

Smokie came to the ranch from a neighbor who had cancer and had to move to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for cancer treatments. Smokie had just had a baby in June. She had some type of infecion that we didn't know about until it was too late. Smokie was a very loving horse that loved attention. Again my heart is very heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"Bonita"

Golden Palomino Mare
1987 - 12 September 2016

Bonita, a gorgeous Golden Palomino, came to the Ranch on 1 Feb 2015 on the Retirement program. She took it upon herself to be a companion and lead our totally blind horse, Freckles, around the pasture. She had severe arthritis in her right fore knee joint which required expensive surgery to perform in New Mexico. Unfortunately before we could raise the funds for her surgery, she had a stroke which paralyzed her back legs. Before we could get a vet out to the ranch she had a second stroke which took her life. Bonita loved attention and loved everyone and all the other horses. Again my heart is very heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"New Spirit"

Bay Thoroughbred Gelding
January 2000 - 14 December 2016

Spirit was a 16 year old 17.1 Hands Bay Thoroughbred Gelding that came to the ranch in May 2016 as a retired jumper. Spirit had a heart of gold and loved attention and loved everyone and all the other horses, especially Koda. The vet said he had a brain tumor causing him to go into convulsions which took his life. Again my heart is very heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.

"Royal Revenge"

Dark Bay Thoroughbred Gelding
2 March 2007 - 17 February 2017

Royal was a 9 year old 18.1 Hands Dark Bay Thoroughbred Gelding that came to the ranch as a retired race horse. He was entered into 10 races and won all 10. Royal had a heart of gold and loved attention and would make you smile and laugh at the funny faces and movements that he made. He loved everyone and all the other horses, especially Koda. Royal passed away under suspicious circumstances. Again my heart is very heavy with grief but at the same time filled with love for a super great friend. I miss you my old friend.
